Abstract
This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book shows that British Muslim art is a field marked by a multiplicity of cross-cutting tensions. It is transnational, drawing on traditions from across the world, yet also localised, taking the form of distinctively British or even London-based styles, like Grime. Despite facing social deprivation, securitisation and housing and health inequalities, British Muslims make increasing contributions to the UK's economic, educational and cultural fabric, with this growing due to younger generations entering higher professions in greater numbers. The Black Lives Matter movement has added momentum to long-standing calls to openly discuss the brutal hidden histories behind many British cultural institutions and iconic figures.
