Abstract

Key Points Access site practice in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) has been extensively investigated with the data favoring a radial approach. SAFARI‐STEMI does not change the recommendation to use radial access in most patients due to methodological issues with the study. Barriers to widespread adoption of radial access can be overcome by education, training, and mentorship. It is important that operators are proficient in selective use of optimal alternative access techniques for some ACS patients.
